Book Reviewers List

19th October 2012 - I am in the process of a major overhaul of this list. This should hopefully be relaunched in the New Year, but I'm leaving the current list live so that everyone still has access to the existing reviewers. Please bear with me as I try to improve and increase the list. Thanks!

After discussions with a fellow author and having seen several writers desperate for reviewers, Lauri J Owen and I decided there was clearly a need for a comprehensive list. If you find any of the information is incorrect, out of date, or you have/know a review site or blog address you think should be added, please do so in the comment box with as much information as possible, and we'll update the list as soon as we can. (We're each publishing this list.)

We take no responsibility for changes in circumstance of the sites listed - we are offering this list for free and all information is correct to the best of our knowledge at the time of posting, although we'll attempt to check them periodically as time allows.     Review sites currently closed or with restricted acceptance are highlighted in red - and those not accepting self-published works are in green. (We are still compiling the list so there will probably be more to come).

So, with much thanks to Lauri J Owen who shared in the work, here is a list of book reviewers with their chosen genres and preferred formats where known:

Disclaimer - we take no responsibility for changes in criteria, genre or circumstances by any of the websites. Nor do we guarantee acceptance of your work. The decision to accept books for review and the resulting review are entirely the provenance of the website owner(s).

Please note:
(1) Many reviews explicitly state that they will only read a finished, edited manuscript (ARC). That’s just common sense, so even if they don’t come right out and say so, don’t submit anything that isn’t finished. And edited. No one wants to read your work in progress, and you probably won’t like the review you get either.
 (2) Most reviewers will not contact you to tell you that your review has been published. Use google alerts or another similar program that sends you an email when/if whatever words you choose (i.e., your name and/or title of your book) appear on the internet.
(3) No reviewer guarantees that they will review your work. If they don’t publish a review in a month or two, it’s probably okay to contact them once and inquire. If they don’t respond, move on. And don’t take it personally. Everyone has different tastes.
 (4) The majority of reviewers state clearly on their websites that you are NOT guaranteed a good review. You should probably read some of their reviews to judge how your own work might be received and, if in doubt, don't submit.
Finally: You should know that neither of us endorse any of these reviewers, and no one paid us a darn cent/penny for listing them. We did this work and posted this post out of the goodness of our hearts.
